Countryside Driving in Japan

The #1 rule of  travel in Japan is to not rent a car, and the corollary is to not drive in the countryside.  So I took the airport bus back to the Narita airport to rent a car for some countryside driving.

Day 5, Sunday, 12 July 2015

Nagoya Castle

A visit to the amazing Nagoya Castle.  And then made more countryside driving.

Day 6, Monday, 13 July 2015

Coastal Drive

Drove the coast road of the Nara peninsula south of Osaka

Day 7, Tuesday, 14 July 2015

Nara

Visited the ancient city of Nara and its incredible temples

Day 8, Wednesday, 15 July 2015

Kyoto, the Anagram Lover’s Tokyo

A visit in the old capitol of Japan, including to a colony of snow monkeys

Day 9, Thursday, 16 July 2015

Bullet Train back to Tokyo

My time in Japan was far far too short.  Definitely on the revisit list.  Took the shinkansen from Kyoto to Tokyo, then the airport bus to the Hilton Narita Airport hotel.  I’ve found it to be wise to stay at the hotel near the airport the night before departure home.
